Courtesy of our St. Albert Road Race Course Director, Graham Glennie:
Today would have been the 37th running of the St. Albert Road Race on one of the best courses in the Edmonton area. This will be the first year in many that I did not race or volunteer. I am sad not to have been able to put the race on with the rest of the Active Physio Works team, but I did not have to get up at 5am today and I enjoyed a pancake breakfast with my family, so it was still a pretty great Sunday morning. I ran the 10 miler this afternoon in my first ever race t-shirt from the 1998 10 miler. I challenge anyone to still have a 10 miler shirt that’s older.
I look forward when we can put this great event on again!
As we draw closer to the race date, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this years St. Albert Road Race. As we monitor the COVID-19 outbreak here in Alberta, we were hopeful that the outbreak would be contained so we could host the race as planned in April. We thank you for your understanding and support and would like to offer the following options for our participants for your entry:
1. 100% of your entry will be used to donate to the Edmonton food bank (tax receipt can be issued)
2. Roll over your entry to the next St. Albert Road Race to take place in September 2020 or April 2021
3. Issue a refund (cheque will be mailed to you)
For those of you that have registered, please choose which of the above options you would like by completing the survey here: https://bit.ly/2R0A1ty
From all of us at the St. Albert Road Race, wishing you all the best and please stay safe.
